Invention Convention: Teaching science in a way so that children can apply it to their daily lives.
Question: What are some ways to encourage students to embark on inventing in the classroom?
Answers: You can do any of the following to promote inventing in the classroom…
Talk about inventions that we use every day in a classroom. A great example computers, dry erase boards, who vented the school bus or cars? The list could go on...
Talk about famous inventors. For instance, Alexander Graham Bell, ask your students what he invented. How about the cell phone? Get the students to think outside the box!
Have science fairs - impress students from other inventions
Conduct science clubs - they motivate students to work together
Take field trips - Make it interesting or intrigue students with that AWWW feeling
Have assemblies
Have guest speakers - they can be so be so beneficial! They can encourage and drive students to do more
Help students realize the human species is only increasing so we need things to help humans.
-Transportation -Food/goods -clothing -amount of living space per person -money(costs, expensive) -technology helping humans (computer/internet, cars, buildings, homes others..?)
(This could motivate students to want to help others and all humans) How else can students be motivated by this?..
